Jaycee's Biological Father Speaks Out

Jaycee Dugard's biological father wants to be back in her life, but it's reported that she wants nothing to do with him.  INSIDE EDITION has the story.

There is more turmoil in the life of kidnap victim Jaycee Dugard.

Jaycee fears her biological father, a man who played no part in her upbringing, wants to be back in her life.  But she wants nothing to do with him.

Now, he's speaking out about the snub.

"Ill never give up the effort to make contact," he said.

Ken Slayton had a brief relationship with Jaycee's mother 30 years ago.  They broke up before Jaycee was born.

Last year, after Jaycee was rescued in that headline-making abduction case, Slayton and his two other daughters reached out to her.

"We want to know her, we want her in our lives," one of Slayton's daughters said.

But Jaycee is horrified at reports that Slayton is bringing a paternity suit.  Her spokesperson said, "We wish to avoid the terror of a process server for Jaycee.  She does not wish to see Mr. Slayton or his family at this time.  DNA does not make a family."

Slayton, his wife Jamie and his high-profile attorney Gloria Allred held a press conference Friday to talk about the spokesman's comments.

"I'm very upset at the verbal missiles and the spokesperson that fired at me," Ken Slayton said.

Slayton's attorney Allred said, "We agree that DNA does not make a family.  Neither does shutting a father out of his child's life."
