Mother Shows Grace Following Murders Of Her Father, Son In Kansas City Shootings
INSIDE EDITION reports on Mindy Corporon’s amazing grace following the murders of her father and son during the shootings outside a Jewish Community Center.
America is marveling at the grace of the woman who suffered a double loss in the Kansas City shootings.
Mindy Corporon was on the scene moments after the shooting at the Jewish community center and found her father and her 14-year-old son shot dead.
She said, “As I got close enough, I saw my father's body lying there next to the truck. I knew as soon as I came upon my dad, he was in heaven. I lost my dad and I lost my son and I want to focus on what can we do or create that will be good that will come from that."
Her poised and dignified demeanor is impressing everyone.
The Huffington Post calls Mindy’s strength "a powerful message of love and faith."
Psychologist Dr. Jeff Gardere told INSIDE EDITION, "She is doing everything right. She is tremendously courageous. She is tremendously brave. I think that what we can all take away from this is when there is evil in the world, when there are these horrific acts, we have to fight that by showing the good in all of us."
Her talented son Reat was at the community center to audition for a singing contest. He had planned to sing a country music hit, “You're Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone." He sang it for his mom before he left for the audition.
Mindy said, “The hard part comes when this dies down. The hard part comes when the door closes. When the phone stops ringing. That's when it's going to be hard.”
INSIDE EDITION is learning more about the alleged gunman, 73-year-old white supremacist Frazier Glenn Miller. Witnesses place him at a 1979 gun battle between neo-Nazis and protestors in North Carolina. Five people were killed, but Miller was never charged.
He appeared in court on Tuesday for the first time, charged with three murders. A cold blooded monster who has torn the brave woman's family apart.
