Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were a hit, as usual, with their witty brand of comedy at the Don Rickles roast. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
The zingers didn't stop as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunite for the first time since their acclaimed hosting duties at the Golden Globes in Janaury. This time they aimed their wit at 88-year-old comedy legend Don Rickles.
Tina Fey said, "We are here tonight to celebrate Don Rickles. And honestly, it's almost like he's here with us. You can feel his spirit in this room with us."
Amy Poehler said, "Tina, he is here."
Fey replied, "Jesus, I thought that was somebody's purse."
Poehler continued, "So, here we are, because they thought it was important for Don to be honored by at least one woman. Which apparently is what we count as."
Johnny Depp, David Letterman, director Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro and were also on hand for the roast of the ailing Rickles.
Scorsese joked, "We wanted to honor your memory, Don so here we are. Though, if I had been directing this I don't think I would have gone for the open casket."
De Niro said, "Rest in peace old friend."
When it was Rickles' turn to take the mic, the insult comic gave as good as he got, joking, "I am so thrilled as I look around the room and I'm the biggest name here. This is what rocks me, it rocks me."
