George Clooney Furious Over Report His Future Mother-in-Law Is Opposed To The Marriage

George Clooney fired back at a report claiming his future mother-in-law isn't in favor of his marriage to her daughter for religious reasons. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
George Clooney is blasting a report claiming that his future mother-in-law is opposed to his upcoming marriage for religious reasons.
The article in the London Daily Mail also claimed that Clooney's mother-in-law to-be wants her daughter "to marry within their strict Lebanese religious sect," an offshoot of Islam called Druze.
Clooney's fiancée, Amal Alamuddin, is a successful British human rights lawyer who was born in Beirut.
Her mother, Baria, is an editor of an Arab newspaper and expert on Middle East affairs.
According to the Daily Mail article, Baria is unimpressed with having the world's most eligible bachelor as a son-in-law and reportedly told friends her daughter could do better.
The Daily Mail article quoted Amal's mother as telling half of Beirut that she's worried her daughter will not have a traditional Druze wedding ceremony.
She's also worried that her daughter risks being "cast out of the community" and that "several women have been murdered" for not following Druze traditions.
But Clooney is firing back today, calling the article "completely fabricated."
In an op-ed in USA Today, the Oscar-winner writes Amal's mother has not even "...been to Beirut since Amal and I have been dating." He also notes that "Amal's mother is not Druze."
He goes on to accuse the Daily Mail of exploiting "differences where none exist" and says the article was "negligent" and even potentially "dangerous."
The Daily Mail today removed the story from its website, leaving a screen saying: "Sorry, the page you have requested does not exist or is no longer available."
The paper also released a statement saying: "We accept Mr. Clooney's assurance that the story is inaccurate and we apologize to him, Miss Amal Alamuddin and her mother for any distress caused."
