Backstage at the Emmy Nominations
INSIDE EDITION is backstage at the Emmy nominations getting reactions to the list of this year's nominees.
Conan O'Brien has the last laugh! He just got an Emmy nod for his short-lived stint on The Tonight Show. Gasps were heard when Conan's name was read.
Conan reacted with humor, posting on his Twitter page, "this bodes well for the future of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien."
Most notably snubbed, Jay Leno for The Jay Leno Show.
Craig Tomashoff from TV Guide said, "I don't look at this as a slight to Jay. I look at it as a reward to Conan."
INSIDE EDITION spoke with Joel McHale of NBC's Community right after he announced the nominations. McHale said, "I think it's great. Conan is one of the best in the business."
Glee received 19 Emmy nominations—the most this year for a series on broadcast TV.
ABC's quirky sitcom, Modern Family, got 14 nominations, including one for Best Supporting Actress, Sofia Vergara.
Vergara told INSIDE EDITION, "To be nominated is pretty surprising."
After three decades, Saturday Night Live made television history, getting 12 Emmy nods and bringing its lifetime tally to 126 nominations total—the most ever. Betty White, who, by popular-demand, made a memorable appearance on SNL in May, was nominated for Best Guest Host.
This year's most nominated program? HBO's World War II epic The Pacific, which racked up a whopping 24 nominations.
The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be presented on August 29 with host Jimmy Fallon.
