Engagement Ring Prank At Grand Canyon: Memorable Or Creepy?

Shane Ciancolo staged an elaborate proposal prank at the edge of the Grand Canyon, but some are saying it didn’t go over so well. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
Talk about taking the plunge, a couple did it straight into the Grand Canyon!
When Shane Ciancolo got down on bended knee and popped the question to his girlfriend Rebecca, he thought he was in the perfect spot. But, he slipped on the rocks and almost took Rebecca with him.
The box containing the engagement ring fell. He ran after it, only to slip again. The box fell into the 6,000-foot deep Canyon.
Fortunately, it was all a prank committed by Shane and it scared her to death. The ring box was fake and moments later, he popped the question again with the real ring.
She couldn't even watch the video when INSIDE EDITION showed it to her. She turned away and said, “I can't.”
On Shane’s YouTube page, people are really going after him.
"Creepy,” 'Loser," are some of the more gentle comments.
Shane told INSIDE EDITION, “Somebody got mad at me online for littering and I did feel bad about that. I thought I could get it back but the cliff was a real cliff.”
We just had to ask, what was he thinking?
He said, “I thought it was important to have a memorable engagement.”
That's an understatement.
Rebecca said, “At least I said 'Yes,' not ‘You're an idiot.’”
