Awkward! Whoopi's Uncomfortable Questions For Beverly Johnson
There were some tense moments on The View as Whoopi Goldberg asked some pointed questions to Beverly Johnson about her claims against Bill Cosby. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
It was Bill Cosby's most famous accuser, supermodel Beverly Johnson, and his best known defender, Whoopi Goldberg.
The face-off happened on Monday's edition of The View. The edgy exchange began when Goldberg asked Johnson, "I have to ask you, Beverly, so you came out because the stories that these women were telling were similar to what you had experienced. He did not rape you."
"I don't think so, no" responded Johnson.
"You're not sure?" asked Goldberg.
"I don't remember anything after I got in the taxi and said, 'Did I just call Bill Cosby a (blank)." said Johnson.
"So, the taxi got you home," said Goldberg.
"The taxi got me home. The next thing I remember was waking up the next day, and recalling, was that a dream or did that just happen?" said Johnson.
And one point during the interview, Goldberg even seemed to suppress a laugh.
Meanwhile, Bill Cosby broke his silence over the weekend, speaking briefly with freelance reporter Stacy Brown.
Stacy told INSIDE EDITION, "It seemed like he didn't have allegations, such as the ones that he has, hanging over his head. He just seemed so at ease. It was really surreal."
Cosby said, "Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism."
Cosby also expressed gratitude to Camille, his wife of 50 years.
Brown asked Cosby, "How is your wife holding up?"
"Love and the strength of womanhood," said Cosby.
Cosby has vehemently denied the accusations posed against him.
