'Good Morning America' Correspondent Reveals Dramatic Weight Loss Formula

INSIDE EDITION spoke to Good Morning America's Mara Schiavocampo about her new weight-loss book, Thinspired.
Good Morning America correspondent Mara Schiavocampo told INSIDE EDITION what she used to eat.
She said, “My diet was terrible. I ate almost exclusively packaged processed foods. I even got my vegetables from a can of tomato juice.”
But after becoming pregnant and ballooning up to 230 pounds, she knew she had to do something.
“I wanted to lose the baby weight and so, I started working really hard at it. I didn’t give myself any excuses and that worked. I started to lose a lot of weight,” she told INSIDE EDITION.

Mara went from 230 pounds to a svelte 140 pounds. In her new book Thinspired she writes about a formula she created to drop all that weight.
She says 70% was focused on eating the right food, “Food is everything, without cleaning up your diet you're never going to lose weight.”
And 10% was focused on sleep. She said, “When you're well rested you eat less, it's such an easy way to control your appetite.”
Next, 10% on planning, meaning plot out your day thinking healthy at all times and spend 10% on exercise.
She mentioned, “I'm not a skinny stick, I’m healthy and I’m happy. I have a sustainable lifestyle. I’m not sprinting through a marathon. This is a well-paced walk through life.”
