Demi Lovato: Former Boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama Visits Singer in Hospital
Valderrama, who dated Lovato on and off for six years, was seen looking somber outside Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Demi Lovato’s ex-boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama, has been photographed rushing to her hospital bedside following her overdose.
The "NCIS" actor, driving a black Tesla, was seen speeding into a staff parking lot at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles Wednesday.
He spent two full hours comforting Lovato and left looking somber. He refused to answer questions from photographers.
Valderrama and the singer dated on and off for six years. When they split up for good in 2016, Lovato’s mom said it "broke us all,” according to People magazine.
Lovato’s family wants the singer to check into a rehab outside Los Angeles as soon as she is discharged from the hospital. That could be as early as Thursday.
Addiction specialist Dr. Kevin Gilliland says the 25-year-old singer is at a crossroads.
“What they'll start to talk about and map out especially in this first week or two is, 'How do we get back on that path?' and what is really critical is the next 90 days," he told Inside Edition.
The "Skyscraper" singer is "grateful to be alive" after her brush with death but doubts are being raised about whether she really wants to go back to rehab, People Magazine Music Editor Janine Rubenstein said.
"Sources closes to Demi Lovato have told us that they are actually worried for her now because this may not be her rock bottom, as they say," she told Inside Edition.
Meanwhile, more details are emerging about the wild bash that led to Lovato's overdose. The singer started at a nightclub before partying the rest of the night at her home.
When paramedics responded to an emergency call, they reportedly found drugs and drug paraphernalia scattered around the residence.
