Housewives Claim They Were Roofied

Two of The Real Housewives of Orange County claim they were slipped the date rape drug by another patron while visiting one of New York City's upscale restaurants. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.

Were two stars of the hit reality show The Real Housewives of Orange County slipped a date rape drug at a trendy New York City restaurant?

Peggy Tanous told INSIDE EDITON she believes a roofie was put in her drink.

"It had to have been a roofie because we were just drinking white wine and a couple glasses of white wine are not going to make you sick and violently throwing up." Tanous said.

INSIDE EDITION's Les Trent spoke to Ramona Singer, star of that other Bravo TV franchise, The Real Housewives of New York City. Singer said she witnessed the terrifying incident.

"You don't expect things like this to happen at a very upscale New York City restaurant," she said.

A photo obtained by INSIDE EDITION showed Singer having drinks with Tanous and Tamra Barney, who were in New York City over the weekend for a press tour. They said a middle-aged man brought drinks to their table.

"With two drinks in hand, which were exotic-looking drinks, he looked at Peggy and Tamra and said, 'I have two drinks for you two girls,' " Singer said.

"I got roofied," Barney said, referring to the date rape drug Rohypnol.

Tanous said she also became dizzy and violently ill.

Fortunately, both housewives recovered and have learned a lesson: Don't accept drinks from a stranger!
