Tributes are pouring in for Jan Hooks, the former Saturday Night Live star who died Thursday at the age of 57.
Among her most memorable impersonations was a sobbing Tammy Faye Bakker.
She's also remembered for her impression of Irish singer Sinead O'Connor, and former first lady Nancy Reagan.
Said Amy Poehler, "Jan Hooks was an incredibly talented and lovely person. She will be dearly missed."
The brilliant comic actress appeared on SNL from 1986 to 1991. Hooks was part of a legendary cast from those years that included Phil Hartman and Chris Farley, both of whose lives were also cut tragically short.
Hooks' post SNL career included a stint on Designing Women and a 2010 guest spot on 30 Rock.
Co-star Alec Baldwin tweeted, "I'm sad to learn that we lost Jan Hooks, a remarkably sweet and talented actress."
Hooks passed away after a long illness, believed to be cancer, but the laughs she gave us will live on.
