Thousands Gather to Pay Tribute to Slain NYPD Officer Brian Moore

NYPD officer Brian Moore was shot to death in the line of duty last week was laid to rest as officers from around the country came to pay respects.

It was a heartbreaking funeral for slain NYPD officer Brian Moore who was shot to death in the line of duty.

Tens of thousands gathered at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Seaford, Long Island.

Officers from across America and even Canada lined the streets to salute the 25-year-old, from Massapequa, New York, who had been on the force for just five years.

Brian was working in plainclothes when he was gunned down last week in Queens. Demetrius Blackwell, an ex-con with a lengthy criminal record was arrested for the shooting.

Brian’s father, Raymond, is a retired NYPD Sergeant, and the slain cop had an uncle and a cousin who were also on the force.

Brian Moore comes from a long line of NYPD officers and his fellow officers showed up en masse to pay tribute to a brave young man gone too soon.

During the funeral Brian was given the posthumous promotion to Detective First Grade.
