Woman Chugs $200 Bottle of Cognac After Airport Staff Say She Can't Take it on the Plane

A woman traveling back to China from the U.S. opted to chug her expensive bottle of cognac because she was told it wasn't allowed on the plane.

A Chinese woman was making a connecting flight from Beijing to Wenzhou, China when airport security said she could not take her newly-bought $200 bottle of cognac on the flight.

Determined not to let it go to waste, the woman drank the entire bottle inside Beijing Capital International Airport.

The passenger, who has only been identified by her last name Zhou, was traveling back to China after a trip to the U.S. where she purchased the bottle of Remy Martin XO Excellence.

Police say she then became so intoxicated that she was found rolling on the floor and acting erratically at the boarding gate.

She was not allowed on the plane because she was too intoxicated, police said. Authorities felt she was also a safety concern for others and herself since she was traveling alone.

“She was so drunk … she couldn’t even stand up herself. We took her to a room in a wheelchair so she could rest,” a police officer told the local paper Beijing Times.
