The lucky serviceman, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jose Medina, said there were no rehearsals.

More information has come to light about the American soldier who got a dance with the new first lady at Friday night's Salute to Our Armed Services Ball.

All eyes were on Staff Sgt. Jose Medina, 29, of Puerto Rico — who has served in Iraq and Afghanistan — as he cut the rug with Melania Trump.

"It's incredible. Obviously it was a great privilege and honor to get the chance to dance with the first lady, he told Inside Edition."

He said the two spoke briefly during the dance.

"She [was] just saying hi to me, congratulating me on being selected, and I just told her that she was beautiful and that she had a beautiful family, and she smiled at that," he recalled. "She was just trying to get to know me. Behind the scenes, she wanted to talk to me more."

He added that the crowd "went crazy" when he spun President Trump's third wife on the dance floor.

He said she seemed jittery as she took the stage but over time, got more relaxed.

"She was nervous," Medina said. "I don't think she was ready for all of that attention."

Melania wowed in an off-the-shoulder vanilla gown with a deep side slit and a red ribbon around the waist. It was later learned that she actually helped design the dress with designer Herve Pierre.
