A woman staying at the home ran out and flagged down a passing driver for help on Saturday night.
A Massachusetts man was arrested in the brutal double-murder of a couple whose bodies were found shot to death and wrapped in rugs and plastic, according to reports.
Michael Hebb, 45, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the killings of 37-year-old Mark Greenlaw and 39-year-old Jennifer O’Connor, WBZ-TV reported.
Police and a SWAT team took Hebb into custody without incident on Monday in Peabody, according to the television station.
Police in Peabody responded to Greenlaw and O’Connor's basement apartment after a woman staying at the home ran out and flagged down a passing driver for help on Saturday night, WFXT-TV reported.
She told cops that there had been a crime in the home, where authorities said they had been called before.
“We have been here a number of different times for all kinds of incidents," Chief Thomas Griffin told reporters.

Police reportedly called the crime scene at the Farm Avenue home “messy and cluttered,” noting they had to use a special x-ray machine to determine the number of victims.
The slayings of Greenlaw and O’Connor stunned their loved ones, who took to social media to express their grief.
“I know she is at peace and with God,” O’Connor’s aunt wrote on Facebook, saying it was with a “heavy heart” that she shared news of her niece’s killing. “Please say a prayer for her.”
“You will be greatly missed and loved always and forever,” a friend wrote of Greenlaw. “God has gotten another angel.”

“Fly high Mark, you will be missed by many,” another friend posted.
Greenlaw and O’Connor had been engaged to marry since 2016, according to social media.
Police had been searching for two suspects believed to have been involved in the murders, saying they were thought to be driving a stolen 1992 Acura and may be armed, WBZ-TV wrote.
Based on the statement made by the woman who flagged down help, it appeared the suspects may have known the victims, the Essex District Attorney's Office told The Boston Globe.
Hebb is expected to be arraigned in Peabody District Court Tuesday. The Essex DA’s office told WBZ-TV that one other suspect is still at large.
