A South Carolina woman didn’t let her stature stop her from making a giant catch.

Laura Robinson Griffin, who is 4 foot, 10 inches, caught an alligator nearly triple her size at 12 foot, 7 inches, but she said she wasn’t even afraid.

Griffin, 37, drove two hours from her home with her husband and friends to scout out alligators on Sept. 8 and when she spotted the giant reptile on Lake Moultrie, she immediately knew it was the one she wanted to take home.

“I told my husband if we were looking at actually getting an alligator the next day, that I’d like to have that one,” Griffin told InsideEdition.com.

When she returned the next day, the same huge animal was still hanging out in the same spot.

“We waited for probably about 45 minutes to an hour, and he appeared,” Griffin said.

After two hours, Griffin and her team were able to hook him after he’d gotten away once.

“Once we did that, you actually kind of fight the alligator or they give you some resistance and try to get away," Griffin said. "After about 10 or 15 minutes of fighting, we got him to the surface of the water where I could actually take a shot."

Griffin shot the reptile three times with a pistol. It was her first time alligator hunting.

“I wasn’t ever scared," Griffin said. "I know the guys that I was with, they were not gonna let anything happen to me."

She added: "I was overwhelmed by the size of him. I guess it doesn’t help that I am very small too so we contrasted a lot standing beside each other."

The family has already cleaned the gator and said they plan to eat him.

“I’m gonna have his head mounted just for bragging rights," Griffin said.
