It was a terrible scene inside the jetBlue aircraft where passengers were left stranded for almost eight hours. Even the pilot was literally begging for help.
The jetBlue pilot told air traffic control he was getting no help from his own company.
The pilot said, "I have a paraplegic on board that needs to come off. I have a diabetic on here that's got an issue. It's a list of things, I just got to get some help. Look, you know, we can't seem to get any help from our own company. I apologize for this, but is there any way you can get a tug and a tow bar out here to us and get us towed somewhere to a gate or something? I don't care. Take us anywhere."
Jimmy Brown of Staten Island, New York, is that paraplegic passenger.
"I would want no person in my condition to have to go through this again," said Brown.
When help finally arrived, the pilot thanked air traffic controllers with one final slam against his airline.
"Just thank you very much for helping us out because we got more help from you guys than our own people," said the pilot.
A jetBlue spokesman said, "Faced with limited options, we did the best we could for the passengers' care."
