'Porch Shooting' Verdict: Guilty of Murder

Theodore Wafer has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the shooting death of teenger Renisha McBride. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.

A dramatic verdict in the trial of the homeowner who shot a teenager dead on his porch at 4:30 in the morning was handed down.

A jury in Detroit has found 55-year-old Theodore Wafer guilty of second degree murder.

He killed 19-year-old Renisha McBride with a single shotgun blast to the face last November, claiming it was self-defense because he thought someone was trying to break into his house in the middle of the night.

Renisha's mother spoke after the verdict, telling reporters, "I wanted justice, cold blooded murder."

Wafer will be sentenced August 21st and faces a maximum of life in prison.
