Country music star Granger Smith is opening up about his son's final moments.
River, 3, accidentally drowned in his family's backyard pool in Georgetown, Texas, earlier this month. In a YouTube video posted Wednesday, Granger and his wife, Amber, spoke candidly about their loss and how they are coping.
Granger recalled playing outside with his three children right before the accident.
"I just had this thought, 'Soak up this moment because it's not gonna last forever.' Somewhere between 30 seconds and 3 minutes [later], we don't know, Amber and I are inside our pool gate doing CPR on our son," Granger said.
The Smiths went on to say that they are grateful for the outpouring of love they've received and said they are trying to move on the only way they know how: by putting their faith in God.
“Don’t feel sorry for us," Granger said. "We feel very blessed. We had an incredible boy for three years and we feel good about that.”
He added: “We are going to live our best life.”
