Indian Man Wakes Up at Own Funeral Just Before Being Buried

Mohammad Furqan, 20, was reportedly declared dead Monday after his family informed the private hospital where he was being treated that they would no longer be able to afford his medical bills.
An Indian man woke up at his own funeral just as he was set to be buried, according to his family.
Mohammad Furqan, 20, was reportedly declared dead Monday after his family informed the private hospital where he was being treated that they would no longer be able to afford his medical bills. He had been admitted to the hospital in June after an accident knocked him unconscious, the Independent reported.
"Devastated, we were preparing for the burial when some of us saw movement in his limbs," Furqan's brother Mohammad Irfan told the Indo Asian News Service. "We immediately took Furqan to the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where the doctors said he was alive and have put him on ventilator support.”
A doctor treating Furqan now said he is in critical condition but is "definitely not brain dead."
"He has pulse, blood pressure and his reflexes are working," the doctor, who was not identified, said. "He has been put on ventilator support."
The hospital that declared Furqan dead will be investigated, according to local officials.
