'Jealous' Man Allegedly Kills Wife's Niece After Having Affair With Her: Cops

The Florida man demanded to know where the niece had been, then shot her several times, police said.
A Florida man has been charged with murder after he allegedly shot his wife's niece, with whom he had been having a secret affair, police said.
Stephen Myers, 44, followed 21-year-old Winnie Mendoza and confronted her outside her home, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department. He demanded to know where she had spent the night, then shot her several times as they argued, authorities said.
Myers left the young woman lying in her driveway and went home, where he confessed the affair to his 34-year-old wife, Luisa Mendoza, police said. The couple have two children.
Myers drove off but was later arrested by police, who say Myers confessed to the killing. He is being held without bail at Turner Guilford Correctional Center, after appearing in court Saturday.
His attorney told WPLG-TV that Myers intends to plead not guilty.
Winnie, who worked in the pharmacy of a nearby Publix grocery store, wanted to become a nurse, relatives said.
"We are living a horrible nightmare," the woman's mother, Yessenia Mendoza, told reporters after her daughter's killing on Friday.
