As the world pondered whether the pair were "far from the shallow" in real life, Lady Gaga said she and Bradley Cooper figured, "I guess we did a good job!"

Lady Gaga is finally revealing the planning behind that cozy Oscars performance with Bradley Cooper that sent fans into a tailspin with theories of a secret relationship between them.

In an interview for Elle magazine, the 'A Star Is Born' actress revealed to Oprah Winfrey that their duet of 'Shallow' on the awards stage was all a really great act.

“Quite frankly, I think the press is very silly. I mean, we made a love story,” she said. “For me, as a performer and as an actress, of course we wanted people to believe that we were in love. And we wanted people to feel that love at the Oscars. We wanted it to go right through the lens of that camera and to every television that it was being watched on.”

She added that the performance was "orchestrated" to give off a specific vibe. And as the world pondered whether the pair were "far from the shallow" in real life, she said they figured, "I guess we did a good job!"

Lady Gaga appears in the December issue of Elle, out next week.
