Father of ‘El Capitan’ Kid Responds to Controversy

One of the most celebrated achievements ever for an 8-year-old kid is now coming under fire. Last week, Sam Baker became the youngest climber ever to climb El Capitan's 3,000-foot-high cliff at Yosemite National Park. Baker completed the achievement with his dad. They used ropes and a mechanical device called an ascender. However, some climbers are arguing that Baker did not technically summit the cliff because he did not scale the rock with his hands.
