Hear Southwest Pilot Notifying Control Tower of Mayhem on Plane
A Southwest Airlines pilot remained calm as she called the control tower to make an emergency landing. "We have part of the aircraft missing, so we're gonna need to slow down a bit," pilot Tammy Jo Shults can be heard in a recording of the call. Oxygen masks deployed after an engine on the flight exploded and sent debris flying into the cabin. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Philadelphia.
