Rare Super Blue Blood Moon Graces the Night Sky This Week

A supermoon, total lunar eclipse and a blue moon are all happening at the same time this week. Folks around the world will get to see a bigger, brighter moon, aka a Supermoon, as its elliptical orbit brings it to its closest position to Earth. People in the central and western U.S., Australia, New Zealand and Eastern Asia will also be treated to a lunar eclipse. This will give the moon a copper glow. And since it will be the second full moon of the month, it will be what's known as a Blue Moon.
