Police Release New Audio and Video of Suspect in Murders of 2 Indiana Teens
Police also released a new sketch of the man they believe killed Abby Williams, 13, and Libby German, 14, in 2017.
Authorities released new audio and video Monday as they continue to hunt for the killer of two teenage girls in Delphi, Indiana.
More than two years after Abigail "Abby" Williams, 13, and Liberty "Libby" German, 14, were found dead off a rural hiking trail near Delphi on Feb. 14, 2017, authorities have yet to catch their murderer.
On Monday, the Indiana State Police held a press conference to update the public on the "new direction" the investigation has taken.
Never-before-released video taken from Libby's cellphone shows a man walking toward the two girls. A still image from the video had previously been shared. Authorities also released more phone audio in which a man apparently says "down the hill."
They also shared a new, younger-looking sketch of the suspect, who they believe lives or has lived in Delphi. They believe he still visits the area. Authorities say he is between 18 and 40, but said he may appear younger than he is.
In July 2017, Indiana State Police released the first sketch of the murder suspect. The person depicted in that sketch was described as a white male between 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10, weighing 180 to 220 pounds, with reddish brown hair and eye color unknown.
A reward for information leading to an arrest stands at $225,000.
“This is not a cold case,” Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland said in February, two years after the girls vanished. “This case is not closed. We are not done with this investigation — there are countless people working on this every day."
