Real Estate Investor Lucky to Be Alive After Walking Into Booby-Trapped House
When a real estate investor went to view an abandoned home in Philadelphia, he had no idea he would walk into a house with a swinging knife, some broken glass and spikes in the floor.
A Philadelphia real estate investor is lucky to be alive after getting a terrifying surprise at a house he was viewing.
The dilapidated staircase inside an abandoned home in Southwest Philly was booby trapped with a large knife duct taped to a crutch that swung at realtor Ekrem Uysaler.
Fortunately, Uysaler's co-worker noticed the tripwire before anyone walked upstairs during the Jan. 2 visit to the property.
"Everybody was in shock,” he told Inside Edition.
Video was recorded of the visit and the footage has recently gone viral.
Uysaler believed the worst could have happened that afternoon, saying, “Definitely somebody could have died in that house."
The swinging knife wasn't the only booby trap in the house, as they also found a pile of broken glass on the stairs and this floor board with more than a dozen spikes sticking out of it.
"Somebody booby trapped this house for a reason,” he said. "I was a machine gunner in the United States Marine Corps and I have never seen anything like this before."
