The country's Defense Ministry recently unveiled the new weapon in a doggone adorable New Year's greeting video from the revered 470th Dog Breeding Center outside Moscow.
And it is an all-out onslaught of adorable.
Dozens of puppies of multiple breeds run and play in the video, but these aren't just any canines.
Dogs from the Breeding Center are among the most decorated in Russia, a country that prides itself on its superior military hounds.
The 470th won an international competition last summer, beating out pups from Belarus, Egypt, Iran and Uzbekistan.
More than 3,000 dogs are employed in the Russian armed forces.
