Sarah Michelle Gellar is facing backlash after posting a series of sexy throwback photos of herself as "a reminder not to overeat" on Thanksgiving.

The 41-year-old mom of two and former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star shared the images to Instagram on Monday. They show her posing in black lingerie and an open white shirt during a 2007 Maxim photo shoot.

The full caption read, "I'm just going to pin these up all over my house as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday #thanksgivingprep."

But some followers weren't impressed.

One commented, "Is that where you place your value? On the size of your thighs? Or your protruding hip bones? Nothing positive comes from this post."

Another added, "“This caption proves once more that diet culture is really everywhere and that so many women have internalized this kind of thinking. It’s really a shame."

Other fans came to her defense.

"Great message and great post. Since when is a goal an insult!!?? You do you," one wrote.

But perhaps this follower said it best: "Everyone overeats on Thanksgiving. If you don’t, then someone doesn’t know how to cook!"
