Woman Texting Sister About Engagement Accidentally Messages Sarah Michelle Gellar Instead
The actress congratulated her after the mix-up.
When Charlyn Willis got engaged to her boyfriend Dennis, she couldn't wait for her sister to see her dazzling, new ring.
But when the woman from Savannah, Ga., tried to message her sibling a photo, she accidentally sent it to a wrong number.
Incredibly, the number she typed was that of actress Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, whom Willis has never met, wasted no time in congratulating her.
"I was definitely in shock, definitely in awe," Willis told InsideEdition.com. "I was grateful for the congratulatory text message I received."
Gellar shared a screenshot of Willis' photo on her own social media pages, where she wished the bride-to-be all the best.
Willis couldn't believe it.
"All of a sudden I am seeing a sweet message displayed to 1.7 million people," Willis said. "Not only on Instagram but her Facebook account as well."
She called the messages "the icing on the excitement cake." And while Willis is overjoyed about her celebrity endorsement, she's more excited to walk down the aisle.
"I've been in a relationship with my fiancé for three years and this is what we were working towards," she said. "Now that it's come to fruition, I get to spend my life with the man I love."
