Terriers Would Be Good Dogs for Trump, Westminster Dog Show Says
The folks at the Westminster Dog Show suggested the president should get a Kerry Blue Terrier or a Norwich Terrier, known for their hair and attitude.
President Trump is the first president in over 100 years to not have a dog in the White House.
On Monday night at a Texas border wall rally, he claimed having one "would look phony. Phony. It's phony to me."
His first wife, Ivana Trump, said he doesn't like dogs and especially didn't like her poodle, Chappy, when they were married. The dog barked at Trump and didn't like him, either, according to Ivana.
So Inside Edition went to the Westminster Dog Show at Madison Square Garden to see what breeds would complement the president.
There was Dougan the Kerry Blue terrier, a breed known for its big head of hair, not unlike Trump. There also was a Norwich terrier, a small, wiry dog known for having a lot of attitude.
The Obamas had Portuguese water dogs, but they are working dogs that require a lot of attention.
Trump has publicly praised one breed of dog for its drug-sniffing skills.
"There is nothing better than a good, old-fashioned German shepherd," he said at the rally.
