Tomi Lahren Rips Her Haters After She's Doused With Water During Brunch in Minnesota
President Trump and Kathy Griffin were among those coming to her defense.
Conservative Fox commentator Tomi Lahren is recounting how she was targeted during a brunch at a downtown Minneapolis restaurant.
Video shows a woman flinging a cup of water at Lahren and her mother. A heated confrontation followed, with a man off-camera shouting profanities at Lahren and calling her a racist.
On "Fox & Friends" Wednesday, the pro-Trump commentator described the incident. "Unfortunately, there was a group of people, probably around my age, who thought it would be funny to throw water at me."
The 25-year-old Fox personality added that the act of the brunch patrons was "disheartening."
Her endorsements of Trump's anti-immigration views has sparked criticism, as did her remarks in a since-deleted tweet, comparing the Black Lives Matter movement to the Ku Klux Klan.
"Meet the new KKK," she said. "They call themselves Black Lives Matter,"
On Wednesday, Trump tweeted his support of Lahren, calling her "a truly outstanding and respected young woman!"
Comedian Kathy Griffin also chimed in on social media, saying on Twitter that while she disagrees with Lahren's views, "I don't think it's cool to resort to physical actions to make your point."
