Dramatic Bodycam Footage Released From Shootout Inside Trump Miami Resort
The intense video shows officers engaging in gunfire outside the hotel before moving into the lobby.
Dramatic bodycam footage has been released from last week's shootout between Florida police and a gunman inside the Trump National Doral Miami resort.
The video, released this week by the Miami-Dade Police Department, shows officers engaging in intense gunfire from the outside of the hotel before moving into the lobby and closing in on the suspect.
The drama unfolded Friday when 42-year-old Jonathan Oddi allegedly began "actively shooting" in the lobby of the hotel while making anti-Trump statements, according to CBS News.
Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez said at a news conference that Oddi was "neutralized and taken into custody without further incident."
Oddi had reportedly suffered gunshot wounds before he was taken into custody. However, he was taken to a hospital awake and alert, officials said.
Police said the suspect used a semi-automatic handgun.
Though an officer sustained a broken wrist at the scene, only the shooter was wounded during the incident.
Investigators did not immediately reveal a motive.
