Trump Plays Video of Granddaughter Arabella Singing in Mandarin for Chinese President
Arabella, the daughter of Ivanka Trump, learned Mandarin from her Chinese nanny.
The first family may have a secret weapon when it comes to improving relations with China — Donald Trump’s granddaughter.
Ivanka Trump's daughter Arabella was a hit at a state dinner in China Wednesday, when President Trump played a video of his 6-year-old granddaughter, who is learning Mandarin from her Chinese nanny, for Chinese president Xi Jinping.
In the video, Arabella can be heard singing and speaking Mandarin, which seemed to delight all who watched at the function.
The president looked like a proud grandpa as Arabella’s video was played on a screen in the banquet hall.
After watching the clips, Xi said that Arabella, 6, deserved an "A+."
The president is on a 12-day tour of Asia and his granddaughter is not with him.
After playing the video, Trump proposed a toast, expressing his wish that U.S.-China relations only “grow stronger and stronger for years to come."
