What Did Trump's Body Language Say as He Slammed Raid on Personal Lawyer's Office?
The president was reacting to the FBI raid Monday at the Manhattan office of his personal attorney, Michael Cohen.
On Monday, President Donald Trump fumed about the FBI's raid on the office of his personal attorney, Michael Cohen — and a body language expert believes he came close to losing it.
"It's a disgrace," he said. "It's frankly, a real disgrace. It's an attack on our country, in a true sense. It's an attack on what we all stand for."
Psychologist Dr. Lillian Glass said President Trump's mannerisms showed he could barely control his fury.
"He's trying to contain himself but it's not working," she told Inside Edition. "We have never seen him like this — posture hunched, holding onto himself, a fist-like movement of his hand. It shows he's devastated and angry."
On Monday, FBI agents swarmed Manhattan's Loews Regency Hotel, where Cohen has been living while his home in being renovated. The agents reportedly seized documents, bank records and personal electronics, including his cellphone.
At the same time, another team of agents raided Cohen's law office 12 blocks away, again taking documents and records reportedly related to the $130,000 payment Cohen has admitted making to Stormy Daniels.
President Trump slammed the raid to a room of reporters before meeting with military brass to discuss chemical weapons in Syria.
"They raid an office of a personal attorney early in the morning," he said. "And I think it's a disgrace."
CBS News' justice department correspondent, Paula Reid, told Inside Edition she was surprised by the outburst.
"He was in this meeting to focus on Syria but it was clear his mind was elsewhere," she said. "He went on a tear... It was quite surprising... He was as angry and frustrated as I have ever seen him."
