Woman Dies at Work After Falling Into Meat Grinder

It's not clear what caused the fall.

A Pennsylvania woman was killed when she fell into a meat grinder.

The woman, who worked at the Economy Locker Storage in Muncy, was found dead Monday morning by a co-worker but no one witnessed the incident, authorities said.

An employee reportedly heard strange noises coming from the machine and then found the body of 35-year-old Jill Greniger, the New York Times reported.

Greniger may have been standing on a set of wheeled stairs when she fell, authorities said.

Firefighters reportedly spent nearly an hour taking apart the machine to get Greniger out.

Her death is being investigated by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
