Woman Meets Biological Dad for the First Time After Finding Him on Facebook

The touching moment was captured on camera.

Greg Hicks had no idea he had a daughter until a month ago.

Michelle Cehn, 31, was born in October 1986 but was adopted immediately afterward by Joan Cehn, 68, and Joel Cehn, 71.

Though she had a wonderful childhood, she always wondered about her birth parents.

“Growing up, I was always so curious and had a hunger and fascination and quest to hopefully one day find my birth mother and didn’t think it would be possible to find my birth father,” Cehn told SWNS.

Her dream to meet her mother came true in 2009 when her adoptive mom helped her track her birth mom down.

Cehn’s birth mom, Diane, had her at 23 and said she wasn’t able to support a newborn then. She also said she didn’t know who her birth father was. Although she and her birth mom bonded and now have a relationship, Cehn still longed to know her birth dad.

She eventually decided to have her DNA tested on multiple genetic testing sites. This past April, a relative of her dad popped up and she reached out.

She then used Facebook to track down Hicks and message him. A paternity test confirmed he was in fact her dad.

“It was like, 'Wow, this is real.' Oh my goodness gracious. What does one do?” Hicks said.

The pair met for the first time recently in a moment captured on video. Hicks ran up to his daughter and they embraced.

"He was so excited and jumped up onto a concrete block and I immediately thought that it was something I would have done,” Cehn said. “He brought me into a big bear hug and it was so, so cool.”

Cehn, who grew up as an only child, also found she has a brother through her dad.

"It was so cool to find out I had a brother also. I had wished for siblings my whole life,” she said.

Hicks said just he’s truly happy to know his daughter.
