Woman Reportedly Injects Herself With Fruit Juice, Nearly Dies
She reportedly used 20 kinds of fruit in the concoction and wound up spending five days in intensive care.
A woman in China reportedly almost died after injecting fruit juice into her bloodstream –– in a bid to be healthy.
She used 20 kinds of fruit in the concoction and wound up spending five days in intensive care, according to the BBC.
When she first injected the juice, her skin began to itch and her temperature began to soar.
But she didn’t do anything about it until her husband convinced her to go to the hospital.
The woman, who is not named, suffered liver, heart, kidney and lung damage.
Doctors saved her by putting her on dialysis and using blood clotting agents.
The 51-year-old told Asia One she had no clue what she did was so dangerous. “I had thought fresh fruits were very nutritious and it would not do me harm by injecting them into my body. I had no idea it would get me into such trouble.”
A nutritionist told the BBC that while some fruits are good for vein health, they should never be injected into your veins.
