This Is What 270 Pounds Of Extra Skin Looks Like

"This is, hands down, the bravest thing I have ever seen."

It's one of the bravest videos ever posted on social media.

Twenty-two-year-old Matt Diaz showed the world what he's been hiding under his shirt.

On his Tumblr page he posted the video and said, “I have never done anything like this before. I am really scared. So, this is me. So, this is what 270 pounds worth of excess skin looks like essentially. It’s on my arms, my torso, and there is nothing I can do about it.”

Diaz, a comedian from Brooklyn, New York, has always struggled with his weight. Six years ago, he tipped the scales at 500 pounds. So, he decided to have lap band surgery, and lost an astounding 270 pounds. But after his dramatic weight loss he was left with all that excess skin.

In the video, he said, “I worked really hard to get here and I still don't have the body that I want but I am trying really hard to love myself.”

The response was overwhelming as 1.5 million people have watched his video and many posting supportive messages.

One comment was: "This is hands down the bravest thing I have ever seen."

Diaz told INSIDE EDITION, “It's just been such an insane out pouring of support and kindness and I haven't seen any negativity at all.”

After posting the video he created a Go Fund Me page to raise money for cosmetic surgery to remove the excess skin. So far he has raised over $54,000 in just five days.

He is grateful for the donations, but what he's really happy about is the confidence he's gained by exposing his body to the world, flaws and all.
