Wolf of Wall Street Feels 'So Bad' For Friend Reportedly Living on the Streets

Jordan Belfort has said he feels "so bad" for his former friend, William King, who is now reportedly living on the streets of New York City.

"Wolf of Wall Street" Jordan Belfort has said he feels "so bad" for his former friend who is now reportedly living on the streets.

“I read the story, and I feel so bad for the guy,” Belfort told the New York Post, who first shared the image of former stockbroker William "Preston" King sleeping on pizza boxes on the street.

"I'd probably be on a park bench, too, if I didn’t get sober," he added. “There was so much partying back then."

His hard-partying lifestyle was depicted by Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street. Belfort told The Post he has now been sober for 18 years.

King, 52, once lived the life of wealth and opulence depicted in the movie.

He worked at companies like Merrill Lynch and Oppenheimer & Co., and lived in a swanky SoHo loft while driving a BMW.

His sister, Kristine, told the New York Post that he scored in the top two percent of his Series 7 stockbrokers exam despite dropping out of high school and NYU. He also spoke five languages.

However, according to the Post, the hard partying turned into a downward spiral and King ended up sleeping on the streets.

His family is now trying to find him so that they can get him help.

“I want him to know his sister loves him and wants to get him help and wants to make sure he’s OK. I would go to the end of the Earth to protect and save him," his sister said.
