Former Wrestler Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka Pleads Not Guilty to Murder of Former Girlfriend
Snuka was arraigned in Lehigh County Court in Allentown, Pennsylvania, after being arrested in September. During his court appearance, the 72-year-old wrestler said he had early onset dementia and post-concussion syndrome. He also told the judge he cannot read nor write in English.
The case of Nancy Argentino’s death was reopened last year by Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin after questions were raised about her death.
At the time, Snuka was one of wrestling’s biggest names and the couple was in Pennsylvania for a wrestling event in which he was participating.
Snuka was the only person of interest in the case but was never charged.
In 2012, Snuka released an autobiography were he maintained his innocence and said that Argentino’s death ruined his life.
Snuka was once charged with assaulting her just four months prior to her untimely death in a New York motel. He pleaded guilty to harassment in the case and most of the serious charges were dropped.
