Celine Dion Consoles Mourners at Husband's Memorial, Thanks Fans for Their Support

Celine Dion thanked fans and loved ones for their support at her husband's memorial in Montreal.

A heartbroken Celine Dion consoled mourners by the hundreds at a memorial for her husband, Rene Angelil in Montreal, Canada.

Celine stood for hours by Rene’s open casket on Thursday, wiping away tears as she gave each person a hug and whispered words of thanks to each of them.

The couple's eldest son, 14-year-old Rene-Charles, stood by his devastated mother's side.

The line of fans stretched for blocks outside Notre-Dame Basilica, the same church where the couple married in a fairytale ceremony in 1994.

She was visibly shaking as she stood by Rene’s casket. She left the church clinging to her son as fans looked on.

Celine was guided to worldwide fame by Rene, who was also her manager. He died last week of throat cancer.

Two days later, Celine’s brother, Daniel, also passed away from cancer.

After the memorial for her husband, Celine told People magazine: "The support we've received has been such a blessing."

His funeral will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday and will be streamed live to the world on Celine’s website.
