Eli Manning Didn't Look Very Happy About Brother Peyton's Super Bowl Win
While Peyton Manning was celebrating his big Super Bowl victory, his brother, New York Giants quarterback Eli, was mocked mercilessly on social media for his sad face.
Eli, who has won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants, has not responded to his reaction.
At 39 years old, Peyton is the oldest quarterback to ever win the Super Bowl after the Broncos beat the favored Carolina Panthers 24-10.
Peyton was asked about his post-game celebrations by CBS’ Tracy Wolfson and the champion quarterback said he was going to “drink a lot of Budweiser tonight.”
Many initially believed his reference to the King of Beers was a paid endorsement. However, it turned out to not be the case.
Lisa Weser, who leads marketing communications for Bud maker Anheuser Busch, tweeted:
Hi Internet. For the record, Budweiser did not pay Peyton Manning to mention Budweiser tonight. We were surprised and delighted that he did.— Lisa Weser (@LisaWeser) February 8, 2016
Budweiser also had fun with Peyton’s comment, tweeting:
Carolina Quarterback Cam Newton is being criticized as a poor sport for walking out of his post-game press conference.
The player, known for his entertaining disposition during press conferences, was sulking in pain after the loss. He answered only seven questions and appeared in front of reporters for less than three minutes.
He assured that “we’ll be back” and admitted “they just played better than us. I don't know what you want me to say.”
After being asked if he was disappointed in himself, he shook his head and walked out.
