From Taylor Swift to Oprah, Check Out the Richest Self-Made Women in America
Forbes magazine is out with its 2016 list of "America’s Richest Self-Made Women," and the million-dollar ladies are not all pop stars.
Celebrities include singer Taylor Swift, who ranked at No. 60 with an estimated worth of $250 million. Beyonce is at No. 56 and worth an estimated $265 million, according to the magazine.
Actress Jessica Alba, who made her fortune with a line of non-toxic children's products — The Honest Company — is at No. 42, worth $340 million.
Oprah Winfrey is No. 2 and is worth a staggering $3.1 billion.
The top spot on the Forbes list came as a surprise — 69-year-old Diane Hendricks is worth $4.9 billion.
She co-founded ABC Supply with her late husband, Ken, in 1982. The Wisconsin company sells roofing supplies with 600 stores and 9,600 employees nationwide.
In a real riches-to-rags story, Last year’s wealthiest woman has gone from an estimated net worth of $4.5 billion all the way down to $0, according to Forbes.
Elizabeth Holmes, 32, was the No. 1 woman on the list in 2015 based on the value of her startup blood-testing company Theranos.
But the value of her company has collapsed in the past few months amid allegations that its blood tests are inaccurate. Holmes has gone from billions to nothing.
The company disputes the Forbes report that Holmes is now worth nothing.
