“They're really close,” said their older brother John Rader, who caught the entire reunion on camera.

Shane Rader, 22, was stationed in Italy with the Army for the last three years. His older brother John, 37, said he has rarely had the opportunity to come home to his family since his deployment.

When Shane found out he would complete his duty abroad in December, he decided to keep it a secret from the rest of his family.

"He played it off through Snapchat, and made it seem like he was still in Italy and would be there for a while," John told InsideEdition.com. "He let me know, but he didn’t want to tell anyone else."

John said on Monday, he left his younger sister Elizabeth, 16, at home after class and went out to pick up Shane.

He then led Shane into the home, and let him give Elizabeth the surprise of her life.

In footage licensed by Caters News, Elizabeth doesn't bat an eye until Shane walks up to her. She then lets out a joyous scream, before leaping into her beloved brother’s arms.

“They grew up together, they always lived together,” John explained. “[Our older sister and I] were already old enough that we moved out of the house, so they were the only siblings they had growing up.”

Following his service in the army, Shane is now enrolling in courses to soon become an auto mechanic.
