Fantasia Opens Up About Her Suicide Attempt

Fantasia Barrino speaks out publicly about her recent overdose, saying she did intend to commit suicide. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.
She wanted to die.
That's the shocking admission from Fantasia Barrino.
Two weeks after she attempted to take her own life, the American Idol winner spoke out in an interview with VH1. She said it was no accident, and that she wanted to end it all.
"I didn't have any fight in me. I didn't care about anything. I just wanted out," said Barrino.
The singer was rushed to the hospital on August 9th after swallowing an entire bottle of aspirin and sleeping pills.
"I knew exactly what I was doing," said Barrino.
"You can't accidentally take a whole bottle of pills," added Barrino.
The suicide attempt came after a woman threatened to sue Barrino for stealing her husband. Barrino says the man lied to her, telling her he was separated.
"I was tired of people doing me wrong, constantly, over and over again. My head was hurting," said Barrino.
Just this weekend, Barrino performed at a club in North Carolina, her first public appearance since her suicide attempt.
"I been in the house for a week so you know I'm 'bout to act ugly," remarked Barrino.
Barrino, who appeared happy and healthy, told the crowd not to count her out.
"They said it was over for me. I'm here to say that I'm back," stated Barrino.
