Think the Campaign Trail is Bad? See Donald Trump on Celebrity Roast
Marco Rubio has nothing on these comedians.
If you think the insults are flying hot and heavy on the campaign trail for Donald Trump, they're nothing compared to his 2011 "Comedy Central" roast.
Comedian Gilbert Gottfried said at the event: “Donald Trump has done so much damage to the New York skyline, he should be called the 20th hijacker.”
Gottfried told INSIDE EDITION that even the crudest insults bounced off the real estate tycoon.
“That got some gasps and boos from the audience -- which meant I haven't lost my edge,” the comic said.
Now that Trump is one step closer to the White House, Gottfried said: “I'm hoping it will mean I’ll roast him a second time and get him to cry.”
Larry King, who's known Trump for 35 years, hurled this zinger: “When he graduated from college, he put his shoulder to the wheel, nose to the grindstone, borrowed $6 million from his father and started a career.”
“Everyone had a good time. He was a good sport. He takes a joke well,” King told IE.
A big theme at the roast was that Trump was thinking about running for president in 2012.
Rapper Snoop Dogg chimed in: “Donald says he wants to run for president and move into the White House. Why not? It wouldn't be the first time he pushed a black family out of their home.”
Seth McFarlane lobbed a grenade, saying: ‘As long as I have you here, it's pronounced ‘huge,’ not ‘Yuge.’ And here's another one, it's pronounced ‘I’m f****** delusional’ not ‘I’m running for president.’”
But at the end of the night, the Trump had the last laugh.
“If I decide to run, you'll have the great pleasure of voting for the man who will easily go down as the greatest president in the history of the United States. Me. Donald John Trump,” he declared.
