Lovefest at Tiffany's: Donald Trump's Daughter, 22, Charms RNC With Speech About Her Dad
The seldom-seen Tiffany made her political debut Tuesday night.
The GOP presidential pick’s 22-year-old daughter, Tiffany, charmed the crowd as she got personal about her dad.
"I always looked forward to introducing him to my friends, especially the ones with preconceived notions, because they meet a man with natural charm and no facade,” she said.
Tiffany, who has been seldom seen on the campaign trail, took centerstage and admitted she was a little green when it came to the political world.
“I’ve given a few speeches in front of classrooms and students, but never in an arena with more than 10 million people watching,” she said. “Like my father, I never back down from challenges, so here I am, a little new to the convention scene, but incredibly honored and very confident in the good man America is coming to know.”
Trump’s eldest son, Donald Jr., also spoke at Quicken Loans Arena Tuesday night.
Earlier in the night, the 38-year-old announced to the crowd inside the venue that his dad had enough delegates to secure the Republican presidential nomination.
Once it came time for his speech, Donald Jr. spoke about education and why his father should be president.
His speech came under scrutiny right away after writers from The Daily Show noticed similarities to Donald Jr.’s dialogue and an American Conservative article written by F.H. Buckley entitled "Trump vs. The New Class," which was published in May.
Unlike his stepmother, Melania, who was accused of plagiarizing Michelle Obama’s DNC speech from 2008 the night before, Donald Jr. didn’t copy his speech.
Buckley tweeted that the billionaire’s son “wasn’t stealing.” Instead, he had actually helped the real estate tycoon’s kin craft the speech.
"I was a speechwriter for this speech. So there's not a problem,” Buckley told CBS News Wednesday morning.
