Emma Stone 'Completely Blown Away' by 'La La Land'-Inspired Promposal, but Turns Him Down
Jacob Staudenmaier, who's from the Oscar winner's hometown of Scottsdale, Ariz., recreated the opening scene of the popular film to get her attention.
That adorable La La Land-inspired promposal from an Arizona high school student has generated quite a response, including one from Emma Stone , the film's star and intended recipient.
Jacob Staudenmaier, a teen from the Oscar winner’s hometown of Scottsdale, Ariz., recreated the opening scene of the popular film in a creative bid to get the actress' attention.
And that's exactly what it did, and Stone loved it. She tracked down the teenager, who resembles her La La Land co-star Ryan Gosling, and wrote an email thanking him.
“Jacob! Thanks for making the greatest proposal I’ve ever received. I can't tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video. I'm in London working but I hope you have the best time at prom and I’m grateful you thought of me. Thank you!
PS. I do see "Gosling" around the eyes. Love, Emma," she wrote.
The teen, who wants to be a filmmaker someday, managed to find another date, escorting a friend to the upcoming dance.
"It feels pretty good" to hear from Stone "even though it’s a no — it’s the best no I could ever receive," he said.
