Boy, 7, Gets Surprise Party With Batman After No One From School Shows Up to His Birthday
His mother was happy to see him smiling.
After no one in his class showed up at his birthday party, a 7-year-old boy has been given a surprise party with a very special guest.
Cole Hittler, a first-grader in Missouri, was bummed when he realized that no one from his class at Harris Elementary in St. Charles showed up for his birthday on April 29.
"Coming closer to the party, I wasn't seeing any RSVP's from classmates," Cole’s mom, Tracy Hittler, told InsideEdition.com. "We were hoping someone would come. It was really a bummer. It was just a sad day in general for him."
Cole underwent skull surgery as an infant and was then diagnosed with Apraxia, a speech disorder, at the age of 4.
"It's hard for him to speak clearly and be understood by others, which impacts his ability to make friends," Hittler said.
When the community got wind of the fact that no one showed up to Cole’s birthday party, kind-hearted residents decided to do something about it.
Carla Gibson, a friend of Hittler's from high school, heard about it and decided to throw the birthday party for him.
On Sunday, Cole and his family were picked up in a limousine with a police escort and headed to a local Dave and Buster's, where more than 70 people were waiting, including Batman.
They had cake and presents — all waiting for Cole.
The crowd sang happy birthday to Cole when he arrived. Then Batman emerged from the crowd and said, "I am looking for Cole."
"He was utterly shocked. He blushed red and he was going to cry," Hittler said. "He had a blast. He was smiling nonstop."
